Kristy James is a well-rounded, experienced entertainer that has been performing since the age of 11.
Growing up in Newcastle, Kristy began her love of music playing at the Steel City Country music club every Tuesday night.
At the age of 14 Kristy started her own business running school discos and playing any gig she was able to.
Once Kristy turned 18 she started gigging every weekend and hasn’t stopped for the past 12 years, under agents EAO, Whirlwind Entertainment and Let’s Talk Entertainment. Kristy has performed all over NSW as part of a duo, trio and band and has years of experience.
Kristy has been working with Simon Johnson of Hillbilly Hut along with Glen Hannah, Jedd Hughes, Luke Davis and Mike Carr on her debut EP “Nobody’s Gonna Make Me”, which went to the #2 spot on iTunes. The film clip went to #34 in the Country Music Channel top 50 chart. The EP consists of 5 songs, one co-written with Mick Carr, the other 4 written by Kristy, one that includes her debut single “Overdrive” which was launched on December 1st and went to number 19 on the iTunes chart the first day. Kristy’s debut film clip, recorded by Golden Guitar winner Glenn Wilson, was officially added to the Country Music Channel (CMC) and made the top 50. Overdrive has also been included on 3 different ABC compilation discs, “Women in song – A Celebration of Great Australian Female Artists”, Beaute Ute 2013 and Hit Country - Ultimate Party.
Kristy has been a part of many festivals including the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Monkerai B&S, Blue Water Country Music Festival and the Central Coast Music Festival.
