The 2015 Tamworth Country Music Festival has been awarded Gold at the Inland NSW Tourism Awards last night in Broken Hill for Best Digital Presence.
The award recognises those with superior social media, mobile website, extraordinary design, a strong Google presence and ranking and a platform that is user-?friendly and offers a positive customer experience.
Melinda Petrie, Coordinator, Marketing and Communications, Destination Tamworth attended the awards on behalf of Tamworth Regional Council and said “it doesn't get much better than being recognised for our digital marketing capability”.
“We were up against 70 other applicants in the digital category so winning this award clearly demonstrates how significant the Festival is not only for Tamworth but for the NSW visitor economy as a whole”.
The Tamworth Country Music Festival also picked up a Silver award in the festivals and events category.
This year there was a record number of finalists across 19 categories with each of the categories providing entrants the opportunity to achieve recognition for their success and to promote tourism within their region.
“Entering the Inland NSW Tourism Awards is not only a great way to showcase the festival to our peers, but it is also a way we can benchmark our performance so that we can raise our standard and provide a more fulfilling experience for our visitors each year” said Barry Harley, Manager, Country Music Unit.
“And with the theme for the 2016 Tamworth Country Music Festival 'it doesn't get better than this' that is exactly what we are doing” he added.
The 2016 Tamworth Country Music Festival will be held from 15 - 24 January and will as always showcase the best in Australian Country Music Talent, and also provide an avenue to promote the Tamworth region as a must visit destination year-?round.
“We are really excited about our plans for the Festival next year and we can't wait to see them in action” Mr Harley concluded.
The Nundle Woollen Mill has also been awarded Gold in the Cultural Tourism category and continues to be a must-? see attraction for visitors to the Tamworth region. And deservedly, the DAG Sheep Station at Nundle was inducted into the 2015 Hall of Fame.
