Registrations open for Toyota LandCruiser Country Music Busking Championships 2015
One of the most hotly anticipated events of the Toyota Country Music Festival Tamworth 2015, the Toyota LandCruiser Country Music Busking Championships has opened registrations!
A Festival highlight each year, the Busking Championships sees hundreds of buskers line Peel Street, the Boulevard of Dreams, filling Tamworth's sidewalk with incredible tunes, day and night.
The buskers will perform to the huge crowds of people who teem along Peel Street. It's the perfect platform to show off their abilities, and join a list of household names such as Troy Cassar-Daley, Kasey Chambers and Keith Urban whose careers have all taken off with a busking set at the Festival.
With up to 600 buskers expected to register, there are plenty of talented artists to be seen. The party will be capped off with the awards for Best Country, Best Non-Country and People's Choice. Finalists will take part in the Best of the Buskers Concert on Saturday 24 January in Toyota Park and take home some awesome prizes, and one will be awarded the title of 2015 Toyota LandCruiser Country Music Busking Champion.
“The Busking Championships continue to grow as one of the most exciting parts of the Toyota Country Music Festival Tamworth; it's the perfect launch pad for aspiring country music stars or for those who just want to perform at Australia's largest music festival,” said Festival Director John Sommerlad.
“The buskers always generate a fantastic response and really are one of the cornerstones of the Festival, helping to build the wonderful atmosphere that our event celebrates each year,” he added.
Buskers are encouraged to register early and contact Peel Street retailers to secure their busking positions. Registrations are now open online through the Festival's official website www.tcmf.com.au. Sound levels will be monitored throughout the Festival to ensure fans can enjoy all busking entertainment throughout Peel Street.
The Toyota Country Music Festival Tamworth 2015 will be held from Friday 16 to Sunday 25 January. It is proudly supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW.
